I am 16 and i live in a small town (Comox) with a very high crime rate (most of the kids in my school are on drugs and many have assulted police officers with rocks and stuff) and thats one reason I want to be a cop so i can make a diffrence. I will ask a lot of Q's between now and the time I send in my application to the VPD (Victoria,BC PD)

Welcome from a fellow Canadian.
It's nice that you're looking to make a difference way out on the left coast. I wish you all the best in that endeavor.

There's a lot of knowledge here that you can draw on for help.

Good Luck in becoming a cop. :)

Welcome to the forum. I won't be a lot of help on Canadian policing since I'm from south of the border, but the differences are subtle. Biggest thing I can warn you about is that the guys (and gals) can be pretty blunt. Make sure your posts are well thought out and, especially if you plan to be a cop, as grammatically correct as possible. If you think I'm kidding, I'm sure someone will tell you they ran afoul of some of the older, crusty people. Of course these same people will tell you the straight poop, minus the sugar coating.

Best of luck. And why does your town sound familiar? Is Cam Neely from Comox?
