Mandatory qualifications to participate in the testing process are: 1. Minimum age 20
years. Maximum age 35 except as exempted by statute. 2. United States citizenship.
3. Minimum education -High School diploma and, attainment of an accredited college
Associate's Degree or the requisite 64 hours normally required for the Associate level
degree. Applications are available at the Bourbonnais Police Department, 700 Main,
NW, Bourbonnais, Illinois 60914. Out of town applicants may phone 815/937-3577 to
request the application be mailed. Fully completed applications, attachments, and
proof of meeting the minimum testing requirements must be returned by Friday,
September 5, 2003 at 5:00 PM to the Bourbonnais Police Department main office.
Applicants must attend the mandatory informational orientation meeting on
Wednesday, September 10 at 7:00 PM at the Bourbonnais Police Department at
which time the test administrator will explain the test procedure. Qualified applicants
will undergo physical and written testing on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 9:00
AM. The test location and reporting instructions will be disseminated at the
orientation. Applicants who are successful in the physical and written testing will
participate in the oral interview process at a later date. Following successful
completion of the interview, applicants will be posted to a two (2) year eligibility
hiring list. After the conditional offer of employment, but prior to actual appointment,
applicants will undergo an in depth background investigation, Polygraph (Lie
Detector) testing, in depth Psychological testing complete medical examination which
will include drug and communicable disease testing, and a final Board of Fire and
