Are there any O.com Canadian Officers affected by the Bush Fires in Canada?
Australia gets its fair share of Bush Fires (Wildfires) and resulting loss of life and property and only just recently our Nations Capital was threatened by such fires.
Police Officers play an important role in these emergency situations, very often while their own property and family are at risk.
Best wishes to all Canadian Officers and their families who are affected by these fires and may you come out of it safe and well.

I'm not sure if we have any members from British Columbia?????? Here is a link to the latest news. Its been pretty awful and no relief in site. Its ironic that a province that usually has more rain then it wants, CAN'T SEEM TO GET ANY RAIN to help. Its a very serious and sad situation. I know it is happening in many other places/ countries at this time. :(

Ditto on that John
British Columbia, Alberta and right here in northern Manitoba seem to be having the most problems with forest fires in Canada right now.
The problem seems to be that they're running out of bodies. The people that have been working on these fires for weeks are starting to lose the fatigue battle, and I think they'd gladly use the assistance of anyone and everyone who's ever picked up a fire hose in the past. All in all, these men and women have performed valiently in battling these blazes.
Good luck to all the firefighters who are battling forest fires in Canada and throughout the world. Their work goes largely unnoticed.

Not a lot of forest in my neck of the woods.
I am actually surprised that we have not had out-of-control grass fires around here, especially along the railway right-of-way; usually a spark from a wheel bearing will set off the grass for about 50 kilometres on either side of the rail bed.
Now, if there was just some way of pumping the Quebec flood waters into railway tank cars and ship them out to the forest fires in Alberta and British Columbia!
