Fighting over a remote? It's a man thing. You wouldn't understand.

I don't think the fighting under a remote is cause for concern.

It's the shooting a guy over a remote that makes me scratch my head and go "what 'da ****?"

Talk about a person who has no business owning a gun (if I thought I was ever capable of shooting someone over something as trivial as catching "Law & Order" on time, I'd sell my gun right now).

Oh? It's a man thing to kill your own brother for a piece of plastic with buttons??

In fact, I shouldn't be surprised, for some senseless people drink beer all day and fight over a bottle of beer at the end of the day...

Quite a while ago in a neighboring town, a man had been drinking all day and was wasted. It was approx. 2:00am and both he and the wife were still up and had been fighting. She turned the stereo on and he yelled at her to turn it down. She refused and he said that if she didn't turn it down, he'd blow her brains out. She again refused to turn it down so he got out his shotgun and did just what he promised.

When I was a deputy in Florida, we had one brother kill the other brother over 'who gets to eat the last pork chop.'

This wasn't my investigation, but I was on duty that night. The Grey Cup (CFL Championship game, always a nutty time in the Great White North!) was on, and some guys were watching it on TV at home. There was a LOT of beer being drank (note the similarity to NFL games). One guy was so excited about a touchdown that he grabbed his .22 rifle and fired off a shot - into his cousin's head, killing him instantly.

They all should be applauded for removing themselves from the human gene pool... :D

I wouldn't be surprised if a cop shot his partner to death over the radio station...

when I was in Homicide, we had a guy kill his cousin over the last piece of sweet potato pie on Thanksgiving Day.

It all can be traced back to the gene pool. If the original dumbass had not been allowed to breed, then many of the dumbass people we have today would not exist!

TV remote? Men? General nature? Don't you get it? Okay, sick humor but we're cops. We do that sort of thing.

Anyway, we've had shootings between brothers playing gin rummy (turned into a hostage situation), two hunting buddies fought over who owned a dog & one man killed his friend, & the best one was two teenage car burglars got into an arguement over who stole what so one of them killed the other. It's not sick. It's just beer, drugs, & emotions. Sick is when one person kills the other person's kids just to make him suffer or something like that. It's happened.

"I wouldn't be surprised if a cop shot his partner to death over the radio station..."

That's a bit of a leap, isn't it Fishy?

Well, if dead brother had turned on "Big Brother 3" and refused to give up the remote....I can sort of understand it :p

Disclaimer: I do not condone the wanton and/or willful killing of any living creature. The above post is an attempt at humor and a lame response to the mind numbing torture inflicted upon me by my ever loving spouse and which ever God forsaken network runs that show 3-4 times per week turning my petite flower into a glazed eyed automaton and causing me to live in the garage.

Dino,

I seem to recall hearing about a Customs agent, I think, who shot and killed his partner while being driven home from a Christmas Party. He was drunk at the time.

(Drunks and guns mix as well as drunks and cars ...)

My feeling on all this? Chlorine for the gene pool. Is it sad that a person had to lose their life? Yeah it is. Is it childish that he lost it this way? Yes it is. However, it's the law of natural selection...the slow dumb ones get killed.

On that lines, in the "this ain't no s***, fellas" category. Two cousins and an uncle killed one another after a dispute over who shot which deer. Any time you see an article in a West Virginia newspaper that includes, cousins, deer, high powered rifles and alcohol, you know it's gonna be BIG!!! If you're waiting for the punch line, don't hold your breath because there is none. As much as it looks like there should be, there is none.

I think <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/onair/2020/2020_000217_ross_feature.html" target="_blank">this incident</a> may be the one you recall, Crazy.

It's certainly a sad occurrence but it does seem distinct somehow from the theme of this thread. I don't quite know how I'd categorize the DEA event, but it doesn't really seem to fit in a discussion of murder prompted by petty annoyances.

There are a numerous cases of cops being shot and killed by their partners or fellow officers. I can't, off the top of my head, recall any that were the result of anything like a dispute over a radio station or a fight for the last donut in the box.

I would be surprised to hear of such an event, despite having heard many stories involving ludicrous murder motives.

That's the one. Who knows what set him off, but I wouldn't be surprised if alcohol played a considerable role in many of the "stories" listed here in this thread.

Dino...

It is, but what can you NOT expect in this world today? Do you not hear about how John Walsh on America's Most Wanted is on a man-hunt for an ex-cop who kidnapped and sexually assualted and murdered a girl???

Five-O,

I'm not sure what your problem with USCS is, but you've made it quite clear that you have one.

I'm not sure why a guy in MA has a particular interest in Houston area USCS, but why don't you share it with us.

So far, all you've done is find ways to bash them. Either spit it out or move on. But sitting around and searching old threads just so you can say something ignorant and unsupported is childish and a waste of everyones time.
