Hey!
I have a couple of questions regarding guns. I've been looking at Ruger pistols (P89 9mm) but recently I've heard some bad stuff about them. I decided to look around a little more and started looking at Taurus. I have an uncle who has a Taurus and absolutely loves it. I'm looking at the TAU145b4 which is chambered for .45. I'm also looking at the TAU111ss3 and TAU111b3. Those are both chambered for 9mm the only difference is one is blued and the other is stainless. So I'm wondering which round you prefer. .45 or 9mm. Also have you had any experiences with either Ruger or Taurus good or bad? And do you like a blued or a stainless barrel better?
Thanks!!

I second the Sig 226! Although I did try my first Glock at the range this week, and definitely liked it!
(just dont tell my Sig friends...they might get upset ;) )

I've never heard anything bad about the P89. I personally don't care for their looks, they're big and heavy but they are very reliable pistols. Looks aren't important, heck I have Glocks ;) I've had good experience with the Taurus PT-92 which is a Beretta copy. I've had very good luck with their revolvers. I have heard bad things about Tausrus' polymer pistols though. Do you plan on reloading? If not you will be able to afford to shoot more with 9mm. Lots of practice and shot placement are much more important than caliber. There are some very effective 9mm carry loads. My personal preference is towards Glock pistols but Ruger P series are very good values.

I just realized this is the "ask a cop" section. I should clarify that i"m not a cop. Also, if you are looking at pistols in the Ruger price range you may want to consider a CZ-75 very good pistols.

Adaam, you know what they say ... once you go Glock, you don't go back.

I think the Glock-23 is first on my list now for a Glock purchase. :D
