Ok, I am just going to lay it all on the table. I would some experienced opinions about my chances of getting hired as a police officer. I am 25 YOA. I have been working in juvenile corrections for one year and eight months. I have a good work record. I have approximately 120 hrs towards a BA in Sociology. I have experimented briefly with MJ. Approximately a five month period. I have no arrests or convictions. I have never been charged with anything more than a traffic violation. I do not have very good credit. But I am actively working on that. My greatest concern is my credit. How heavily will it way when I am applying for a job?
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

It looks to me like you have a very good chance of getting hired. Even the credit problem is not as big of a hurdle as it once was. You would have very little problem at my agency.
Fortunately agencies are desperate for people that are even barely qualified, so since you are well qualified, you have a very good shot at it.

Best of luck,

Sounds like you have an excellent chance of being hired. Credit? Depends on the agency-ask whoever you apply with about it. The MJ? depends on how long ago it was-if it was a while back and nothing since, usually not a problem. The biggest thing is to be honest about EVERYTHING concerning your background. It will usually come up.

Best of luck http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
