Does anybody have an old or know where I can find a LEO type communication organizer for a 98 Jeep Cherokee ?

I can't find a new one anywhere, I don't know for sure that anyone ever made one for the Cherokee but I thought they might seeing as how it is/was used a great deal by law enforcement agencies.

The space in the stock Jeep is limited and my equipment is mounted all over the place, I need a good organizer of some kind. I don't need a giant one, just one with enough spaces for a scanner, CB, HAM radio, switches for aux lights, winch, etc.

Try calling Gall's. They used to carry one, though I'm not sure who made it. As the Cherokee has been out of production for 2yrs now I'm sure they don't catalog it anymore, but may have some still laying around or know where you can find one. In the police package cherokee's i've seen they have had the radios/lights mounted to a "equipment tree" mounted to the passenger side of the stock center console, if that helps.

We only used a couple of the Cherokees and both used the tree mounts. They still offer them at Gall's.

If you ever have a rider, though, think long and hard about it! It really cramps up an already cramped up area.

Rimfire,
I drive a Jeep and I had to have our radio/emergency equipment guy custom make me a tree. It didn't take much work, and in fact he didn't even charge the department for it. He made it so that it canted over from in front of the passenger seat and airbag because, as FL pointed out...it can cramp that area up real good!
I've got my emrg. equp. controls, city and county radioes, and cb radio mounted on it. It works really well!

There might be something you can use at <a href="http://www.quadratec.com" target="_blank">www.quadratec.com</a>

The best thing I can suggest, too, is number one, minimize as much as as possible. If at all possible, get the dept. to go in for one of those all in one boxes from Gall's. Or even the remote siren box with the controls seperate and the tlow profile light box. Some radios also have a feature to work the lights and siren functions.

Also look up. See what can be done to mount some stuff overhead.

ALWAYS think AIRBAG!!! Just because you won't be needing the passenger airbag, you can still be decapitated (well, maybe not) by the equipment it throws at you.
