Anybody know? I hear he's at Camp David, but he sure is keeping a low profile.

Supposedly at Camp David, he is separated from the president for obvious reasons.

Interesting question Mike and legitimate I believe. However, do you think it is wrong that it hasn't been announced where he is? Should that sort of thing be kept from the American (and worldwide) people? I only ask because we were having a bit of a media debate over too much information being told about the President's whereabouts.
Warning: Please no media debate! I just want to know if you think it is wrong that the people aren't being told and that he isn't being "seen" in terms of the secret service and the safety of our country.

I think that it is critical that the President be visible to reassure the people and not be seen as "hiding from the enemy". Because of that, I think the whereabouts of the Vice-President should not be disclosed.

I actually hope he's not at Camp David. I hope he's somewhere else and none of us, especially the press, know where.
The press shouldn't be told everything. It's their job to blab it to the world. Might as well give out a 6 digit grid.

At first i thought " Why in the (double hockey sticks) would these morons who want to protect the President keep announcing where he is. Then i got to thinking its a ploy to draw the hiding terrorists out. Because these idiots are not playing with a full deck to begin with. The US probably thought they would be able to catch the remaining terrorists with all the information and bait. At least i hope this is the ploy.

The last I heard he is at Camp David looking at lots of Intel briefs. Being former Sec of Defense im sure he is involved in a lot of planning possible military actions that we might undertake. I heard he will be on Meet the Press on sunday!!

This may surprise some of you but I would lay odds that the vice president is not at Camp David, precisely because that is where they have told the press he is. No surprise that the press gets used sometimes as a means to disseminate incorrect information especially under these circumstances. As regards to the President, they cannot very easily do that as the press is supposed to travel with the President. On occassion they have limited the press's ability to report where they are by taking away their means of communication, but they almost always remain with the President as he travels. When he was flying around in Air Force One they told the media not to report their whereabouts until authorized to do so. Their location was then reported after he was in the underground bunker in Nebraska.

No I don't think it's wrong. I was just wondering where he is and what he may be doing. In fact, I don't think the president should even be seen, but for obvious reasons, he is making appearances.

I've been hearing so many people calling into radio shows saying that the President and Vice President are hiding from all of this, that's why their not being seen and why all the secrecy. No way, man, no way. Because they ARE the President and Vice President, they SHOULD be protected like this!

One of the greatest things about our Country is our firm belief in "continuity of Government" with a smooth transition of power, should something happen to our President. Regardless of how it looks, i.e. "they're hiding...scared..etc..", the President and Vice-President have an obligation to us, the citizens, to stay out of harms way in order to preserve that continuity.
This was not a natural disaster, this was an attack against our Country. Our President was threatened. He and the Vice-President have far greater things to worry about then public appearances.
