I was just in L.A. (where there was a minor earthquake) on Tuesday, and my wife and I decided to drive back to our home in the MidWest with our 5 month old baby instead of flying (which was our original mode of transport to L.A.) We actually might still be in L.A. today if we hadn't driven our rental car back.
I have had many days to try to digest this treacherous and murderous act on innocent men, women, children, fathers, mothers and so on...and unfortunately it does go on.
I have been offline during my trip and during travelling time, but on our long drive in the car from L.A. to the MidWest, I
was able to glean the mood of the nation on the car radio which was on throughout.
As an Orthodox Jew, originally from Great Britain and with some time living in Israel, I understand security problems and issues. I have also worked in Israeli style security and I have always been concerned at the modes of security utilized at airports.
This moment in time, where our nation must try to gather its' thoughts and its composure is not a time to blame low paid security guards, the F.A.A. or anyone. No-one in their right mind would have dreamt, and I still am stunned, that the WTC would be decimated and destroyed by cowards, claiming to be G-d fearing and religious, flying a commercial plane with civilian passengers into the two towers that business is focused around.
I am not one for the taking of innocent life, however I trust and sincerely pray that the US Government acts decisively and with an iron fist against these murderers, their controllers and indeed anyone else ready to give his life along with the lives of innocents.
I am dismayed and deeply concerned that Islamic Fundamentalism, not Islam in its pure form, has been brought from the Middle East and Europe, to the shores of this nation in such a barbaric way.
I also trust that those who in the past have criticized Israel for pre-empting suicide attacks by eliminating either the bombers to be or those who send them, will understand the tragic and volatile need for such a policy.
Make no mistake, just as Israel is not dealing with what are commonly termed as militants, neither is America. We are dealing with one and the same....terrorists...those wishing to created chaos, murder, pain and destruction in order to bring the US and its' allies to its knees.
I pray that in the coming days, we are able to strengthen ourselves, our resolve, our friends and our families to understand that the real Freedom Fighters....are the citizens of America and all those other peoples of the world who stand behind liberty, freedom and justice for all.
All those LEO's, EMS, Firefighters and Military personnel I beg that you take serious precautions on all encounters that you have and that you do not underestimate the guile and intelligence of these enemies of freedom.
