I know NYPD states that you need to live in the 5 boros or surrounding counties at the time of your appointment. However, it is possible that you can live in NJ or CT once your off probation and still have your job?

I lived in NJ for 16 years...
I was called for NY and was in Brooklyn within 2 days.

You will get fired if you live outside the 5 boroughs or the 6 nearest counties to the city in NYS, probation or not.
