Don't get me wrong. I like crossfit and think it is an excellent program for a lot of different goals. But I think some of the stigma attached is funny (cultish, elitist, etc).

I agree. The Rippetoe one was funny, but it doesn't reflect the way Mark Rippetoe thinks, but the way some of the supporters of his program think.

Bottomline is there's penis measuring in every facet, hence the knuckleheads that took the time to make the videos. That right there is an expression of elitism in its own imo...the comment about not being able to properly throw a football... really? Or the comment about boobies shrinking and then AllisonNYC's large breasts...Tho a lot of the buzzword and jargon was dead on, funny stuff.

Crossfit is just growing in popularity as has any number of things. Look at Martial Arts..any clown that can karate chop thru a piece of wood can open up shop and teach karate just as anyone who goes thru a crossfit cert can open up a box. MMA is going thru the same phase. In the long run the trendy buzz frenzied boxes will go away and quality will reign supreme over quantity.
