C24, I'm moving this topic to the training forum, where you'll hopefully get a better response.

Please register, and check in at Introductions Forum. There are a bunch of folks here who will be more than willing to help you.

C24delta:

Thanks for your question! I'm not in the NJ area and am not familiar with anyone who is, but...

check out www.policetraining.net (http://www.policetraining.net)

they have a pretty good list of training. Alot of folks routinely post their training there. There is also a link to this site from the officer.com home page if you follow the link.

As other options...I am not familiar with how NJ works, but you should of course contact your own training officer if there is one. They are often familiar with alot of training opportunities which the department may not send anyone to, but would still be open for individual officers to go to.

You can also try some of your states regional training academies that may be hosting some training and could also put you on their notification list. If they do not currently offer much continuing education type stuff, they may appreciate your input on what type of training that you feel would be needed. They can then keep this in mind when scheduling guest instructors.

Some states have funds available for this stuff and if you sign up enough guys at work requesting a certain type of training, they can find someone and put it on based on the demand.

If there isn't a resource at you department for this, here is your opportunity to shine...Go ahead and become an information source for the rest of the guys....you might one day find yourself in the position of Training Officer!! I've seen this happen before and I have also seen the benefit to the department as a whole.

Either way...I hope this helped. Ignore what you don't need and take the rest.

You may also try a few different search engines like Google.com and Yahoo.com and alltheweb.com

search for 'law enforcement training' and you'll get PLENTY of hits!!! You can also search for your particular desired subject matter and will get some hits just based on that too!

Good luck! And if you find anyhthing, please come back and post it on the forum!!
