Has anyone had any classes with Kelly McCann (AKA "Jim Grover")?

Has anyone seen the video tapes he's put out?

I was not at all impressed when he first started writing under the "Grover" name. The "this isn't his real name" and "he works in international security" didn't even impress me (oooooooooooooh...don't look at him!!! DON'T looook at him... :D :D) I have a buddy who says "The paper will just lie there and let you write anything you want to on it."

But I met a guy who knows him from the hometown, and then I saw the video of him on FOX News, and he really is a bad mammerjammer (that's an industry term.) I'm sure there is some hype, but his stuff is real world, and practical, and EFFECTIVE.

I would REALLY like to be able to take one of his classes-I can't afford it, but maybe the PD can. ;)

I know a few guys who have been to it who say that Crucible training is top notch combatives training. Mostly all former military special ops types.

I don't know about this non de plume thing. Or about this guy in particular. (If I did know him, would I know it, or could I admit it if I did?)

However, doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of writing under a pseudonym if you let it be known what your real name is?

I just saw him on CNN Headlines News, they introduced him as a security consultant and the topic was security on Quantanimo Bay and security while transporting captured AL Quida soldiers.

He seemed fairly knowledgeable, but he said something that really didnt make sense and made him look bad.

The CNN anchor mentioned that there was a possibility that the prisoners would be sedated, which I thought was a good idea considering what happend in the previous prison uprising where a CIA operative was killed. McCann said it wasn't necesary, the Marines that will be responsible for the transporting were skilled soldiers who knew how to do their jobs. I agree with him on that point, but he lost me when the anchor responded with a statement about the Al Quida
soldiers willingness to die and to take lives in an escape attempt. McCann stated "All the men and women of our armed forces are willing to die in service to their country".

His logic on that particular issue was flawed, why be willing to unnecesarily jeopardize troops in this situation by using that rational. Sure the men and women of our armed forces are willing to die in service to their country, but why risk that unnecesarily during a prisoner transport, when you can sedate the prisoners in question?
