Is anybody familiar with the training in the Line Of Duty (http://www.lineofduty.com/default_main.htm)web page? If you have any experience with them or have any suggestions, I would like to hear them.

From what I have seen, the videos are very well produced. Very nice. They inlude lesson plans and tests for officers. They do alot to help make it easier to document good training.

The only problem I have seen is that some departments play the videos for officers and toss the rest, but still call it training.

The videos ARE godd training tools, don't get me wrong. But a visual training aid is simply that.. a training aid. Even the best produced video traiing series cannot take the place of a comprehensive training program. The videos should be integrated into that, not take the place of it.

Additionally, the folks at Front Line do a great job, but the topic they select for a video may not be the training objectives which need to ba addressed at any particular agency at any given time.

If the officers need training in field contacts, a video showing up on edged weapons does not address the issue.

Bottom line is that, while they are excellent products, they must be properly used.

LoD tapes are GREAT. My bro's PD gets every one when it comes out new. They utilize all the lesson plans, etc. I've learned so much from those videos. The site itself is awesome too. IMNSHO, they have the best news source (blotter) for LE related news.
