OPS Precision Rifle Class
The Memphis Police Department will host Options For Personal Security's Precision Rifle Class on April 20 and 21.
This course offers individuals a high level of training in the use precision rifles. Our training staff maintains positions as both Police and military snipers from two separate entities. Two days in length, this course gives the student deep insight into the skills necessary to place well aimed accurate fire on small targets.
Learning Objectives
After successfully completing the OPS Precision Rifle Course the student should be able to do the following:
* Understand the basic fundamentals of rifle marksmanship.
* Understand the importance and how to properly keep a Data Book.
* Understand and perform moa precision marksmanship out to 300 yards.
* Perform precision rifle fire from many positions both slow fire and rapid fire and under stress during day and night.
It covers the following topics:
Correct usage of a data book
Picking A Good Shooting Rest
Other Equipment Organic to Long Range Precision Shooting
Immediate Action
Care of Ammo
The three elements of a good shooting position
Factors common to all shooting positions
Supported and unsupported fundamentals
Bullet Path and Point of Aim
Different types of bolt operations
Definition of Zero
Scope sighting
Techniques for night shooting
Trigger control
