Anyone been to the " Law Enforcements Officers Flying Armed " course, now required by the FAA befroe they will let you fly on duty on a plane. Here in NY, the class is scheduled for 2 hours, but ended up being a 20 minute power point presentation. What a joke, but at least I got the certificate of training.
Now, hopefully one of our outstanding warrants will get caught in Florida.

SCSO, can any full time LEO take the class, and does it let you fly armed every time you want to fly?
Thanks.

I believe the class is open to any full-time Police Officers.
I don't think it lets you fly armed unless you also have a job related function to perform ( prisoner extradition, etc. )

The class was a joke. Basically all it tells you is what a pain in the *** it is to fly with your gun in checked luggage and even more of a pain to fly armed. The other ridiculous thing is how a Federal Agent can just badge the terminal and get on with no problem.

Even tougher if you're a Federal Agent of Middle Eastern origin.
