Anyone ever attend a Calibre Press Street Survival Seminar? I just finished one up and heartily recommend it. Came back really rejuvenated. Can't say enough good things. If you get the chance, don't miss it.

I attended the first two days in San Francisco in November '99, and the 3rd day in Las Vegas a couple of weeks later. I had to do it this way due to some conflicts with work and personal matters. Fortunately Calibre Press was understanding and didn't charge me twice.
I highly recommend it to anybody in LE. Well worth the $200.

I've been twice, once in 90 and again in 98. I'd recommend doing it, if you can every few years. Although a lot of it stays the same, some changes.
I paid for it out of my own pocket the first time. It's money well spent.
One of the things I found most useful was the networking opportunity. The first one I went to had cops from 8 states, 2 countries, all 4 branches of the military and all levels (Fed, State, local). Don't miss the chance to talk with them. They may have already dealt with stuff headed your way and vice versa. A lot of guys end up just hanging out with their own dept.

I've been four times in twenty years. It's extremely cost-effective training. I paid for the last class out of my own pocket.
