I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE TIME TO THANK OFFICER .COM FOR ADDING THIS MUCH NEEDED SECTION TO THE FORUM AREA!
I HOPE THIS WILL BE A HELPFULL TOOL TO ALL CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS, AND THAT THEY WILL SHARE THE WEALTH OF INFORMATION TO THOSE WHO WISH TO ADVANCE THEIR CAREER IN THIS FIELD. http://www.officer.com/ubb/cool.gif

King,
I have the utmost respect for CO's.
I believe that you folks have it worse day to day than I do in the streets, at least I get to meet some nice folk, well kinda. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
Best wishes,
Mikey

I too would like to thank Officer.COM for adding this section. I have been in L.E. for the past 9 years, starting out in corrections and ending back up in corrections. I feel that sometimes we (correctional officers) are not regarded as "real police" just as those of us who are involved in administration are not. Hopefully this will give us a chance to prove those narrow minded people wrong.
I have worked with and supervised COs in a county jail. I got paid more money for doing the same job they did. It just does not seem right to me. This is such a necessary part of law enforcement.
On the other hand, in California, the state COs do get paid very well, as they should.
