Nothing. Our administration has not even achnowldged that it is this week.
I'd never heard of it until this post!
Hey darkwulf, how about running up to the Introductions Topic and telling us a little about yourself? (But only if you are comfortable in doing so.) Most of us don't bite too bad! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Is that a local initiative? I have never heard of it either. I know communities will do different recognitions at different times for Police week or with Firefighters and Ambulance etceteras.

It is National Corrections Week.
Our state legislature make it a state recognition to all the employees with in corrections!. Each institution does different things to show their support for the staff.
We have a committee that does nothing but work on this all year.
They provided Free tickets to a minorleague ball club for the workers and thier family. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This gave everyone a chance to attend atleast 1 game over the weekend. They had pop & popcorn for the staff Friday and Saturday. We are giving away Major league tickets for the Cubs http://www.officer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif if you like the Cubs. Carry in food on Tuesday for current and retired employees. We will honor several people for thier work thru out the year.We will be giving away numerous door prizes donanted by staff (those who have talent) and gifts given by local business.
I could go on about what we do to support the staff where I work, and it should be noted that it is well deserved. This is just some of the things we do during the week.
If your facility is not doing this you should talk with your leaders to get the recognition you deserve!
Decency before dedication. Both in life and the dictionary!
