Please, if you are having problems that you are taking out on your family or spouse, stop and get help immediately. I just had a female Lt. who works with me shot and killed by her husband who was also in corrections. who then turned the gun on himself leaving four children without parents. Please seek help or if you no someone who is experiencing these problems refer them to the appropriate personnel. I thought this was important to pass along. Thank You and stay safe.

My sincere condolences to the family, friends and co-workers.

This is so sad to hear about.

Unfortunately, the last ones to ask for help are the ones that see this day in and day out. Some just don't this when it happens to ourselves; we are too close to the situation.

I agree, if you even think that thing may be headed this way, seek help.

I am so sorry to hear about the tragedy. I hope that you are also getting help in dealing with it.

Way too often we see people that just won't reach out and get help. I had an officer "eat his gun" because he was recently separated and his wife would not let him see their child.

If you know someone going through hard times, talk to them. If they tell you they are fine and you don't believe them, tell a professional. Slip them numbers and information where to get help. If things are really bad DON'T LEAVE THEM ALONE till you get some help. Who cares if in the end they hate you.... JUST DO IT!!

As most of you know there are employee assistance programs. There is help. In the end it will be that persons decision, but until then, do everything you can.

If anyone reading this needs help... reach out. Its not a sign of weakness to get help. There are very few people in this world, if any, that haven't needed emotional help of some sort in their life.

Life is worth living.....

Take care...........

gazza,
And as you most likely know one of the reasons we miss it, is because prior to planned suicide, the person is usually very happy... at peace with him/herself. Thats why I always say, IF you know.

I THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND THOUGHTS, AND PRAYERS. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE CHILDREN MOST LIKELY WILL END UP IN FOSTER CARE, AND IT'S NOT SURE IF THEY WILL REMAIN TOGETHER. PLEASE BE SAFE AND ALWAYS REACH OUT FOR HELP WHEN NEEDED OR LEND AN EAR FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT AS WELL. :(
