Hello Gazza,

I would recommend staying away from leather gloves if thats what your referring to. For searches in a institution, just use disposable latex style gloves. Leather gloves do not disinfect that well once exposed to pathogens. With disposable gloves, it protects you while using it and just discard.

neg not leather...kevlar lined etc and latex gloves aint worth zilch..we banned them long ago due to officers being allergic to latex and or the powder besides that an aus govt report found that one in three latex gloves still let in viruses etc they rip to easily as well, im 16 years in the prisons and we now wear nitrile gloves which are a stronger glove if you need any info re the latex gloves e/mail me...all the best

Hi Gazza,

Yes, we also use nitrile gloves in our institution. I use them out when in the field also. They are indeed superior to the cheaper latex.
