Are there any of you out there that hate participating in a certain event or activity? I like most of the things I'm doing except for a few small things like cleaning/taking inventory on patrol cars (hehehe).

Fingerprinting...I've fingerprinting THOUSANDS of kids, never missed an event in nearly 2 years so you can bet how many events I've done, also anything involving videos made in 1950 LoL

I hate to setup for the annual bike auction (which is going to be held this weekend).

After a while, doing crime prevention, such as McGruff, gets annoying.

Mmm the bike auction used to be a pain but now I can just order everyone else to do what needs to be done...LoL. When it's 20 below it isn't that great but for the past 2 years it's been pretty warm when we did it at least...McGruff also is horrible when the suits never been cleaned and it's 85 out definetly smells I'm glad I outgrew it!

Hey Guys,

Welcome to LIFE! http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Get used to doing what you don't want to do, cause you're gonna be doing a lot of it over the years! http://www.officer.com/ubb/eek.gif

But of course, even the regular cops on our force complain about various things, on my end though it doesn't matter if I don't like it I still do it without complaint when in public or my superiors I think it's ok to talk about it though...

Yes of course it is. I was not trying to infringe on your "freedom to bitch!" http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

See no evil, hear no evil & speak no evil was just for the three monkeys. You will find that the "troops" are always bitching about something too. It's just the way life is.

The key is to not let things actually get too you, as this is one of the ways that "burn out" has of sneaking up on you.

Yes of course; no matter how cruddy the job I still enjoy doing it, shows in how my work performance is and the awards I recieve. I plan on hoping to keep this attitude well into law enforcement...

The most dreaded task in my book is trying to teaching people who have no interest in learning from me. I just don't see why they come expecting us to just let them goof off.
By the way favorite job felony vehicle stops w/the P.A. system on. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

explorer 105,

The folks you are talking about, do they also have a problem in learning from one of the advisors? If they are only there to as you say "goof off" they can do that elsewhere. If they have no interest in the post I would show them the door!

Cool, I almost forgot, I hate keeping records of the events I've been too. I try writing it down when I get home, I forget. I try typing it on the computer, Illegal operations and reformatted the hard drive http://www.officer.com/ubb/frown.gif. And try to remember it...oh hell no! I can't remember anything so I pretty much have to hope I remember. Hehe, I've been with my department for just over a year and I only recorded about very few hours in my time sheet. I wish I could somehow get a routine in which I could keep doing it but since we haven't been training so often (and I missed a few meetings darn it) I haven't been able to get a rhythm going.
