To those of you who wear this, What is the alternative (besides buying a new rig) to the stupid quick-release plastic buckle that resembles the Military web-belt buckle. It is frighteningly easy to undo!! What are my options for retention with this rig?

Yes I have belt keepers.

I used that gear when I worked Security. It is really easy to undo. Other than having to where it tight all the time to keep it on, the only option I see is to use a web belt to put underneath and have "keepers". I wore it with BDUs in which I could not tuck in the shirt. That is the reason I wound't wear it again. Good luck!

The Uncle Mikes buckle is a little more secure.

There is (was) an little deal out there before that wrapped around the buckle and snapped behind the buckle. It had to be removed in order to open the buckle. I don't remember who made it, but you may be able to fabricate something similar.

In the meantime, putting a keeper as close to each side of the buckle as you can will eliminate the belt going anywhere.

I work security and currently use the Bianchi rig. The only time when the buckle opened on it's own is when I had to run down a suspected shoplifter. Other than that it's worked like a champ.

I've used both the Bianchi and Uncle Mikes rigs and have never had either of them come off.

We use the Bianchi, too(for now!). I put the keepers as close as I can to the buckle, and we have the velcro inner belt to help keep it in place. Also, having a supervisor that found sport in trying to undo our buckle in his spare time, keeps us very aware of the buckle.
