The other thread about Hellweg got me thinking. They have some good kit that I had never even heard of before.

We all know about Safariland and Bianchi, etc. but what about smaller shops and custom holster makers?

Any recommendations?

Don Hume Makes some pretty good leather. I think they make the "Galls" brand stuff.

This guy does his own work. A small shop all the holsters are made to order. And he's fairly quick compared to some of the other custom places.

The full belt slide holsters are great!

That and he's local to me. I always like to get stuff fromthe locals. They make Matterhorn & Cochran boots here in Central PA also.

I guess I have to put in a shameless plug for a friend, Ken Null, of mine. Ken hand makes everything and anything to do with holsters and accessories. Check out his website, www.klnullholsters.com
His work is excellent quality and workmanship. I have actually been to his shop. He lives only a few miles from me.

Good topic! The smaller holster makers are where it's at for "Character" in your leather.

I will second Lone Ranger's plug of Josh Bulman. He made me a great holster and "rushed" it since I was needing it ASAP. He also, UNLIKE MANY OF THE OTHERS, was nice enough to talk to me AT LENGTH on the phone two different times about the holster before I bought it.

Pig-I always wonder what area "Resaca Station" was-now I know! I always thought it was way south you.

I have heard MUCH good stuff of Ken also. I ordered a catalogue from him once, and he even wrote a small note in it, about some of his products, and wishing me well.

I "saved" about 30 sites of custom makers on my "Favorites" menu when I was looking for some leather a couple years ago. There are really ALOT of them out there, but only a few make a great quality product, that I would trust, and that REALLY carry the gun properly for 12-14 hours a day.

Also, many of you know my opinion of Mitch Rosen, so before somebody plugs his stuff...DO NOT order from Mitch Rosen!!!!

Ahh...

Mitch Rosen (No disrespect intended to any other posters, but he's a veritable benchmark in the concealment holster industry.)

Milt Sparks (Another veritable industry icon.)

Rafters (Excellent stuff at relatively reasonably price points. They used to make quite a bit of Wilson Combat's leather gear; now they're on their own.)

Alessi (Love his ankle rig.)

Just to name a few.
