Hey guys,

I was just wondering if Westchester County, Towns and Villages gives a Poly exam once they are ready to start hiring?

CRS1 as far as I know there is no poly in any department in Westchester County. The only department around this area I know that gives one is MTA Police.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering as to why some states and counties do Poly's while others will not. Anyone know?

That's a good question; I know now that more and more study's are showing that the poly is not an affective tool with certain types of questions. i.e. I heard about a person who took a poly for the FBI has an outstanding career in corrections field but fail on a question. They are fighting it because they fail a question that they should not have failed. The reason they fail was because they answer the questions truthful but the poly graph showed they had lied. The reason it showed they had lied was because the question had to do with the types of people they dealt with closely in correction and it brought an emotional response to the poly. Lucky for them it looks like the FBI is considering there protest.
