I have been notified that I will be taking my PT test during the Fall of 09.

Once I get through that...what is the process and what are the time frames?

My friend recently went through the academy for Bflo. He told me that he was told after his PT exactly what the next steps were and had an idea of what academy class he was probably going to be in. I remember when he was going through the process and it moved pretty quick. However, I know someone else that took his PT test (and passed) over a year ago and is still waiting to do the next step.

I guess my question is...when I pass my PT in the Fall.....will I still be waiting around a year from now? When I pass my PT...and pass everything else...when can I realistically expect to see the Academy?

Well, I took my PAT last spring (08) and didn't hear from them again until several months later, when I recieved an application packet to fill out and return. It was not until a few months ago that I heard from them once again, at which point the background started. So, these things take time. :D

PS, anyone have info on this? : The background started a few months back and I've not heard from them since. I see the academy starts 8/3/09. Assuming I "passed" the background, is it within the realm of possibility I may still make it to this academy? It's only a few weeks away and I haven't even been to a panel interview, psyche, or medical yet.....Is it proper to call the background investigator?

I waited over 2 years from the time I took my PT test until I got hired.
