Hey,
Is there any information on upcoming civil service exams in New York or any openings...anywhere in the state. I know NYSP won't be till probably 2011 and that NYPD is always having tests, but what about everywhere else in New York.
Thanks.
Westchester County (Towns and Villages) only gives it's exam every 4 years and the last one was 11/15/08 so the next exam won't be until 2012.
The City of White Plains I think is every 2 years and The City of Yonkers might also be every 2 years. I am not sure on those times so don't take me up on that.
Exams are typically given in November or December across the state. Occasionally, exams are given in the sprint as well. There was an exam a couple months ago and several of the agencies local to me chose to offer it.
We should start seeing accouncements in the next 2-3 months for a November/December exam. There is no single website that lists all of the agencies that are offering the exam. You'll have to check with all of the agencies you wish to apply to.

City of Yonkers is every four years. This year is a test year. You have to be a resident three months prior to the date of the written exam continuous to your date of appointment to be eligible for hire.
