Coney Island/Sea Port

So, I will be @ Coney Island tomorrow. Besides riding the Roller Coaster and eating a Nathans Hot Dog, what else should I indulge in? Also, I see that SEAPORT is right there and it is gated, will they let me in so I can see the town and trade a dept patch? I plan on going to the NYPD museum too while in the area. Other than that, nothing else planned since only in for the day. Thanks!

Sea port? Do you mean Sea gate? If so, I believe they won't let you in since the neighborhood is private. The area outside Sea gate has relatively high rate of crime (I live there). Also the circus is in town on 21st street on surf. I advise you don't go farther than that the surrounding area is full of projects plus nothing to see anyway.

Yeah, Seagate I meant. LOL. I saw the circus will be there so we plan on seeing that also, thanks I will keep the street # in mind.

I used to be a SeaGate Police Officer. You won't be allowed to enter the compound since it is a private residential area. But, if you know someone that resides in SeaGate, you can call them and have them contact the precinct to notify them that they're expecting you as a visitor and after that, you should be allowed to enter.

The police run the entrance gate on Surf Avenue, I think if you tell him (a SGPD officer) he would let you go to the station.
