I read other threads about LEO's carrying in NYC and most people said you are pretty much ok with the exception of a few places. I am taking my little brother and sister tomorrow for a day trip and I haven't been there in a while, so I just wanted to specifically ask about a few places I am planning on visiting....

Museum of Natural History
New York Police Department Museum
(and for future reference, can you carry to the statue of liberty?)

I just wanted to make sure I'm ok getting into these places without causing a problem, everywhere else I'm planning on visiting is outside (Little Italy, Times Square, ect.) and I'm not too worried about it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Pretty sure you should be okay with the places you listed. I've carried at the museum with no problems, haven't been to the PD Museum but I would think they have metal detectors. (Being a PO I doubt it'd be a problem) And everywhere else you listed is no problem at all.

Obviously this is for concealed carry, and I'm pretty sure you know that as well.

Statue of Liberty is federal property posted "no weapons permitted." Go see a park police officer and advise him you are carrying. When I did it, they checked my ID, pushed us to the front of the long line, and gave us free passes, we paid for absolutely nothing. Just prior to heading out to Ellis Island, they put a blue band on my wrist. I asked what that was about, the officer stated, "if the bullets start flying, we want to know the guy backing us up is a good guy." Off to the statute I went, armed...

They are really a bunch of good guys and couldn't say enough about them.
