WOW, very nice. In comparison to the Stinger I used to have I think the 8NX is a better light in terms of function and construction. The beam is pure white and clean. The outer flood is better defined and brighter. The tail switch can be sort of adjusted for feel and sensitivity by adjusting the head. I think the Stinger has a "tighter" beam and appears to be brighter out doors and throws the light a little further, but the quality of the surefire beam is incredible absolutely uniform while the Stinger XT I had exhibited a really bad dark center spot no matter the "focus".The 8NX fits a little tight in a Stinger holster and the Stinger XT / polystinger holster is loose, I'm going to order the Surefire brand holster for it. I also ordered a spare X80 lamp assembly that fits in a 35mm film can perfectly, I received in my order a traffic wand also. The traffic wand is overpriced compared to the Stinger wand that costs half as much but it does have an open vent in the tip that the Streamlight wand does not so heat can be dissapated. I now have (2) sc-1 carriers one has a P-60 and the other a P-61 for my G-2 of course each has 6 batteries in it also (panasonic). The G-2 fits nice in a Stinger leather holder that is just a collar. I have a beam shaper and cover on back order for the 8NX. I'm going to order the rechargeable kit for the G-2 along with a cover. I think the covers are needed to protect the lexan lenses from scratches.
About the only thing I see wrong with the 8NX is that the operation is different from the G-2. being that they are both Nitrolon lights and complement each other I think they should have had the same design and operation.
I guess having 2 lights on the duty belt might be overkill. I'll probably carry the G-2 daytime and the 8NX night time
If I need maximum output of light I have the Ultra Stinger , the light from this light is very close to the quality of the Surefire with just a small hint of black spot in the center that is hardly noticed but, it throws a wall of light that could peel the paint off a car and blasts through window tint without any problems.

On the other hand I also ordered and received a Streamlight "baton' light (3 led's) in a machined aluminum housing. This is very nice. The tail switch is just like the surefire and is adjustable for sensativity. It can be turned on continuous. It is fairly bright with a nice soft even light that lights up a small room. It is heavy enough to use as a pressure point weapon, but a little lager than I would like on my key chain as I have a bunch of keys. It will allow me to have a light with me at all times as I don't carry a light in the pocket. Between pocket knife and spare fire arm it isn't all that easy for me to have a flashlight in plain clothes

My duty flashlight is a Pelican 'Black Knight'...40,000 CP. I also have a Streamlight M3 for my G22. Both are private purchases.

I have a personal Stinger on my belt and a department Stinger XT mounted in the unit. They use the same charger and traffic wand( I cut the tip out of mine), and I can (and have) rotated the lights in the charger while doing extended traffic control. Works for me.

I own a Stinger XT and wouldn't consider using any other light. It's reliability and craftsmanship is well represented for the price you pay. Any streamlight product is a sure buy!
