If anyone has an old copy of their department's revolver training course (particularly if it includes reloading from dump/drop pouches or Bianchi Speed Strips) that they wouldn't mind sharing, please drop me a line at txshooter01@yahoo.com. Ayoob and Huntington have recently written articles on the Jordan, "Clamshell", and swivel holsters that have renewed my interest in the older technology. Thanks, James.

Man oh man James, any nostalgia I may have ever had for "packin' a six gun" on duty, just took a dump, right along with your pouches and "slow strips!" http://www.officer.com/ubb/eek.gif

Don, those with half a brain adopted speedloaders immediately. But there were also enough who fit the Barney Fife profile, either through birth or regulation. Look at those departments who mirrored LAPD in everything they issued. A retired Michigan officer I know mentioned a fellow officer who applied clear nail polish to all of his cartridge cases, so that they would stay shiny when carried on the 12-round slide. I never said they were practical (the swivel and Clamshell were always stupid)...I'm mainly interested in viewing how far things have come.
