I'm going to be in San Diego for the 4th of July weekend and am in desperate need of some Federal HST ammo in 9mm. Anybody got a line on a cop-friendly place I should check out?

El Cajon Police Supply would be a decent place to check out. Call them first though. No need to waste a trip to that little slice of heaven unless you have to.

I Googled that name and even looked it up on Yellow Pages dot com. I found a California Police Equipment on El Cajon Blvd. Is that the one you're referring to?

One of my coworkers was talking about a decent place in Oceanside but I don't remember the name; I'll ask him about it today at work.

I grew up in East County. Oceanside is way out of my way, but thanks for looking. Anywhere along I-8 would be a prime location.

These are not very far off the I-8 and I don't know how LE friendly they are but no harm in providing the info...

There is also Project 2000 (http://www.p2krange.com/) in El Cajon but I think that's a little bit of a drive from the I-8.

The prices are bad everywhere. Discount Gun Mart being the worst.

Ho-lee schnikes! No one has any ammo. One guy is getting in 230 grain .45 Federal HST tomorrow - 1 single case! $40/box if anyone really wants it....

I told the girl at one of the LE ammo distributors out there that I may have to resort to pistol-whipping people!!!! :D

So, did you have fun? Did you find ammo?

I was stuck working phones on the 4th....it was insane! The good thing about being busy is the night goes really fast.

Had fun. Got sunburned - BAD. Didn't get ammo. I ordered training ammo online this morning so I have SOMETHING to at least get out and shoot.
