I'm looking into getting some new radar and video systems. We currently have exclusively Kustom products (Pro1000DS and Eye Witness).
Does anyone have any info on other products that is thought to be better and more cost effective than Kustom?
Thanks for any input!

We use a mix of Kustom and Decautur radars and have just order the first 10 cameras for our almost 100 car fleet and they are the Decatur units. I have to say, they rock. They use 8mm video and it is ALL contained in the overhead console, for a "console" the unit is rather compact unit.
Check it out here. http://www.decaturradar.com/store/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=291&CATID=3&ObjectGroup_ID=63&ObjectGroup_ID=63

I've been a big fan of Decatur for the past few years. I rate them and Stalker higher than Kustom, although most of my preference is ease of use and ergonomics.
I personally use the Decatur Genesis II. I took it with me to the radar instructor course and some guys got to try it out for the first time there......a lot of them really liked it over their Kustoms.
As for video cameras.........the Kustom system is nice, but overbuilt and kind of expensive. The really good guy to ask about this is Jim Kuboviak, Director of the Law Enforcement Mobile Video Institute http://www.lemvi.com . They did some serious testing on the different ones available not too long ago. Most units have the same problem, good camera and bad mike or vice versa.
