Anyone out there familiar with reassembling the SW .457 model. I have tried everything including reading the manual. I have assembled/reassembled other weapons in the past, but this is becoming a problem. When I put the slide back on, and everything fits nice and tight, the trigger will not engage for some reason. Any suggestions? PM if you like. Thanks.

2 possibilities I would look at first.
1) The 457 has to have a mag inserted for the trigger to work. 3rd gen S&W autos have a mag disconnect feature which means when you remove the mag the trigger won't work.
2) If you do have a mag inserted then the safety/decocker must be in the fire position. In the down position it disables the trigger.

Thanks alot. That explains everything. I read about that feature on another site, but it never dawned on me that the trigger wouldn't cycle at all without the mag. Thanks for the help

Glad you have it going.
I got my 457 to carry as a backup when I was running a couple of drug task forces. When I left the drug world I carried mine quite a bit on duty in plain clothes and off duty. I still carry mine quite a bit now that I'm retired. It's been a really good one.

A very underrated good off duty weapon for concealed carry. The 457 will serve you well.
