Does anybody know where I can get a DOJ clearance in the Bay Area? I signed up for the academy, and it's a requirement.

Also what do they look for? Is this a quick background check?

You may need the "REQUEST FOR LIVESCAN FORM" from the academy, as they may want the letter sent directly to them.

Usually, it's this form but double check with the academy.

It is a background check against the CA DOJ records to see if you have any impairment in your background which may prohibit you from owning or having a gun under your control. They will look for mental institution commitments and pull your rap sheet.
