very interesting and very true. I do believe the main reason that people drop out is due to family reason. They miss their family, they are homesick, etc. I remember a few people that dropped out from my FLETC class after 3 weeks because they just couldn't handle being away from their family.
I think if you have a right mindset, you will higher chance to graduate from the academy, because you WANT this job, not like people who take 3 weeks vacation from their job just to try it out.

I like the idea of having an Academy Awareness weekend about 2-3 weeks prior, let all hell break loose for 48 hours, I am sure some people will wake up and say "its not for me".

There is no shame in that, better to find out now than on the street.

I didn't find FLETC to be stressful at all, it was college with purpose/guns. We were able to speak to family at any breaks, but I know some academies don't allow any conversations with family at all during the week. Please note, I am not talking about calling mommy/daddy, I am referring to wife/kids.
