How many out there got away from the PR-24? Do you like carrying the ASP or other collapsible batons instead of the PR-24? What is you preference and what do you like about it?

They both have their good points. The ASP of course is always with you and the snap on expansion is somewhat psychological. The PR-24 or Side-Handle baton is great in close quarters such as crowds or riots (bar fights). http://www.officer.com/ubb/cool.gif
All in all, I would give the nod to the ASP simply because it won't be in the car when you need it. http://www.officer.com/ubb/eek.gif

I gave up searching for a Monadnock 26"x7/8" straight poly baton and ordered a collapsable 23-inch Monadnock 'Oficers' baton.

No comparison, the ASP is always there on your side where you need it. And just like the shotgun when you rack it you get attention.
