I am about to change departments, going from a very small no chance for full time agency to a city with a great reserve program that hires from the reserve ranks. My current basket weave is not approved so I just today bought a new plain black leather Safariland rig. Got a great deal at Skagg's BTW. I changed to the 6280 SLS holster from the 070 SSIII.I give up some retention I realize. I hate all those snaps and the bloody thumb break getting in the way when re-holstering, so I accept the trade off. I like this holster so far, a lot. Quick to draw, quick to secure and the tension level can be dialed in to a level that I am comfortable with. I am of the training and reaction school when it comes to retention.Hell, I carried a revolver in a Barney Fife level 1 GI holster for years and had some pretty good fights while wearing it.Always kept mine. Anyone else wearing one of these? Any comments welcome.

Reholstering with the 070 can be just as simple as drawing. Use your trigger finger (must be outside the trigger guard when off target anyway) to sweep the thumb break aside. Also, the thumb should be on the rear of the slide to prevent the pistol from being put out of battery.

With practice, you can reholster as fast as you draw, which is important if it de-escalates to hands-on.

The 070 is a great holster. Its retention qualities saved me once (so far).
