Heard from from a LEO at another local agency that SJPD is a decent place to work. But, that if hired "good luck getting time off". You apparently can request it but won't get it unless you find someone to switch or call in sick. It was implied that this is a somewhat of a cultural issue/un-written policy within the department.
Any truth to this? and if it is true does this pertain to vacation requests as well?
