How long does the BI process take?

Hypothetically, after receiving a COE how long would the BI process take in a federal agency? Someone told me that it was 6-8 months!!! :eek:

Depends on the level of clearance and the type of investigation being conducted. 6-8 months is usually the minimum.

I've seen it take longer than 8 months. If nothing else, applying to a federal agency is a lesson in patience.

Thanks, hopefully I don't get laid off or my airline goes out of business between now and then :p

Would an agency continue with the BI process even though they perhaps stopped hiring this year?
