Our new SVP lightbars are crap, we have used JetStreams, but what does everyone use and recommend? Just wanting ideas to hint some people to lol.

Thank you! Someone else that thinks SVP is a waste of cash.

Whelan Edge lighbars. Finally got my dept. to try strobe bars and they like them.

We have Code 3 MX7000 all-lights. They are great, and have been in use for eight or nine years now without any problems. The newest ones have an Arrowstik and six, count 'em six, takedowns! The outermost ones are "smart lights", which are intersection clearing lights, alley lights and takedowns all in one. It lights up a car stop like noontime.

I like the lighting setup in the SVP Impulse, just too bad their durability is worthless.

I was thinking on the lines of the Code 3 Excalibur with the strobe and halogen setup, which is what we have in the SVPs.

Six takedowns? Geez...most of our guys don't even use their two, they put colored lenses over them for flashers and more color.

Whelen Edge, all blue here. I like them. Not too fancy, work real well, good options, low profile.

Whelen has a new (fairly) model, that is referred to here as "The Palm Beach" Bar. It has 12 Strobe heads (including corners and ends), a few halogens, take downs, alleys and piercers. It also has a built in traffic advisor on the bottom of the case so it doesn't interfere with the rest of the lights. One of our city agencies just got a couple of them...nice units.

I had a bad taste for Whelen until I got my Edge.
