Does anyone carry a multi-tool (Leatherman, etc.) around with them or in their duty bag? If so, how often do you use it and do you recommend any particular model?

I carry the BuckTool on my duty belt it does come in handy alot of times for the access to screwdrivers and pliers but usually don't use the knife (have another blade for that) I can highly reccomend the bucktool have had it for about 2 1/2 years and have never had any problems with it, before that had a leatherman tool and found rust to be a problem with it.

I have a Gerber multiplier that stays on the carry strap of my gear bag. Fairly useful and good to have. It used to ride on my gunbelt but I lost some weight, tightened it up, and ran out of space.

I also carry the Gerber. In fact it is the only thing I used to carry on my duty belt that I STILL carry on my belt most of the time. It just comes in so doggone handy in doing the "little" things around the house/garage/yard! I would be lost without it!

I carry the Super Leatherman on my belt. I use it about once a week. I've tried some tools from other makers , but have decided to stick with the Leatherman.

The mini leatherman is compact and has everything except a phillips head screw driver. It is small enough to fit in your pocket or glove compartment. I use it several times a week and highly recommend it.

For years I have carried the Leatherman. Its just the basic one. Actually bought it years ago when they only had one model. I use it a lot. Everything from tightning a screw to popping a lock open at an apartment building(mom locked out, infant inside). I have been thinking of getting a Gerber Multitool. Only because the Leatherman has a needlenose pliers and the Gerber has a regular pliers.
Most officers at our department do carry a multitool of some make because policy states we cant have a knife on our duty belt but a multitool is approved. Figure that out.
