I keep getting phone calls from "Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police", "MA Chiefs of Police", "MA firemen", etc. Are they legit? I mean I want to support them if they are HOWEVER it seems like its the same man that calls for a couple of them. If they are not legit is there any way to get them from calling me? Thank you.

Most of them are legit, but there's a hitch. Most of the money collected actually goes to the company doing the calling. I think the organization gets under 40 cents on the dollar and the rest goes to the caller. Lots of organizations hire the same company to make calls for them. For example, the "XYZ telemarketing company" may have the "MA firemen" as a client, and the "MA FOP" as a client, as well as the "RI Humane Society" and others. Today Mr. Jones of the XYZ company is calling you on behalf of MA Firemen. Tomorrow they change out his script and he's calling for the "NH Nurses Relief Association"
A lot of these organizations use the monies donated in noble ways, but not in a way that directly benefits the police and firefighters in your town.
If you want to help out your local police officers directly then you should call your local police station and find out if there's a local Police Association or Fraternal Organization that you can donate to. If you do that it'll help your local cops directly, and all the money goes to them, not just a percentage.
You might also consider the 100 Club.

Thank you for the info. But I have another question:
Whats the "100 Club" ?

The 100 club is an organization that is in Massachusetts but I think in other states as well. It's very low key and doesn't like to draw attention to itself. It gives money to the families of police officers that get killed in the line of duty. It's called the 100 club because when it was started 100 buisinessmen each donated 100 dollars to the fund.
