FBI Special Agent phase I question

I recently applied to the FBI special agent vacancy under a physical science specialty. After I submitted my application, there was no notice of how I would be contacted regarding the first phase of the process (written, physical... I don't know how the FBI progression works). Anyway, do they have to be interested in my application before beginning the process? Or do they allow all qualified applicants to move along the phases? Thank you.

i believe if they like what they see they will email you about phase 1 testing- but depending how recently you applied, it might be a while...i hear they get alot of applicants

If they deem you "highly competitive" based on your application first, then they will contact you for Phase I testing. All "qualified" candidates will not necessarily be chosen to proceed, only the most competitive.
They have so many applications and so many people interested, they have no choice but to only choose the highest qualified to move on.

I'm new to the forum and have my Phase I scheduled later this month. If anyone has taken the BPA or CBPO tests could you compare them to the Phase I exam? I purchased the ARCO TEA exam study guide and have been going over the practice exams. Is this sufficient? Study reccomendations would be appreciatted.

When I was getting ready for the Phase I exam they gave me a small study guide. Do they not do this anymore?

Sorry, I don't know anything about the BPA or CBPO tests, but I remember that Phase I really wasn't that bad. I also took the TEA before and thought that was a little tougher than the Phase I exam.
