FT.Lauderdale PD what's the skinny

Ft.Lauderdale Pd hiring anybody have the scoop on this place is it a ****hole how are the cops there,etc?

Go to the "Local Discussion" groups to "Florida" and read some of the posts there and use the "Search" key too (there are some old threads discussing FLPD). There are threads that might give you more info.

The department went through some tough times and still is to an extent but things appear to be on the upswing from what I've heard.

I spoke with a recruiter and I was informed they are currently backlogged with applications. I was told that if I meet their hiring criteria to enter the process that I would expect to interview sometime this July. I also heard they have 17 open positions (not counting those that might retire or leave.)

I actually just applied there a couple of days ago. I am hoping to get an invite to the Interview phase and work through the process with them.
