Their uniforms look like something I wore when I was in the academy. Khaki pants and shirts, cheap, not very professional looking.

The khaki uniform is no longer authorized to be worn on duty. All MCPD departments will be wearing BDU style uniforms in the near future. Until the BDU uniforms come all officers will be wearing the blue uniforms.
Also, MCPD is currently hiring for every Marine Corps installation not just Quantico.

Anyone familiar with the process? If you apply, are you limited to that one location, or would you have to apply to multiple locations? I'd be interested in this for sure, as I've been applying to numerous agencies, and you can't apply to too many agencies it looks like.

Anyone know what the salary is? Doesn't say on their website.
POLICE OFFICER
GS-0083 -04, 05, 06, 07
$31,401 - $53,574 per Annum
It seems like a pretty good police job, just to get your foot in the door its not bad. Does anyone know how to get started, or to apply.
Goto https://chart.donhr.navy.mil/
Click Search Jobs and type in "Police"
You can either apply to each job opening or apply to an open contionus opening which will send your resume to the DONHR database. Once a base wants to recruit for that position they'll pull the resumes that have submitted a resume for that position with there location selected.
I suggest applying to each job opening you see.

The process is much like a regular LE agency. Fill your resume and choices of duty station online and wait. Then you may do an interview and Physical agility test, etc. Then some approx 9 week academy, which your training will not trasnfer to a local agency, etc. This is because you are working for the military. Now I am going to ask...Are you retired? If not and are trying to get a foot in the door, I would stay away. You are not the "police" even though your basdge may say it. You check in /out your gun daily and can not carry off-duty let alone get caught flashing your credentials. I have known many that have started their LE career since it was "easy" to get hired on and have left immediately due to bordem and other non qualifying factors.
Pay and retirement are the same as a regulare govt employee. Pay, well pay sucks, compared to local Le agencies and with the benefits, local or Fed LE is the way to go. Not military. Just IMHO.
Best of luck.
I've found that working Military LE is as boring or exciting as you make it. Much like many things in life. It isn't Local LE for sure, but that kind of LE isn't for everyone. Nor is Local LE white knuckles on the steering wheel 24/7. It has it's share of boredom as well. It's a perfect job for a VET who is tired of being deployed overseas and doesn't require the daily pucker factor anymore.
In some cases and on some bases it's very much like being a local cop. In others it's more security oriented. The work is Security/Force protection oriented but is no less important a mission than your deputy Sheriff or local Police Officer. Perhaps more important in some cases in the bigger picture (think guarding/policing bio/nuke/chem facilities) not to mention our most important National asset; the American Service person.
Also, I've found the pay at my facility, plus the locality adjustment, plus built in overtime to be VERY generous (even at the GS-05 level). We have Guards where I work (GS-05's) making $60,000+ per year with very little OT.
If your wanting to do high speed chases and arrest meth heads this job isn't for you. If your wanting to serve your country and are a disabled or other veteran you will find the surroundings "very comfortable". If your looking for specialty assignments they are there: SRT, MPI, Traffic, K-9, etc. All in all it is what it is, a good solid job with decent income, with perks such as serving and protecting the best this country has to offer. That is all, Carry on....
