I wouldn't even call it a merger! BSO would just take over the area, period plain and simple. I mean their already all over hollywood. West is Cooper City BSO north is Lauderdale BSO. I hope it happens. I look forward to seeing this happen to a few more cities & i hope this happens in dade county as well, give mdpd back some land.

mdpd is getting closer to taking back pinecrest...they are running on fums as it is.(pinecrest that is)

this would be huge, I believe Hollywood is the 2nd largest city in the county. I don't really see it happening though, talks like this always get kicked around when it comes to $$(look at Ft. Lauderdale, Lauderhill, Sunrise, and Davie have all talked about it recently).

I don't think it's going to happen...If it does what happen to the city's command (the chief. LT'S, SGT'S, ect)?...Like Reelrell said they're surrounded by BSO in South Hollywood, I don't know if it's going to happen though...

Don't see it happening personally. Every agency is cash strapped right now, including S.O.

It's not about them having money. It's about hollywood saving money
If Al Lamberti can meet the needs in their proposal, I'm pretty sure the black & white cars that patrol the streets of Hollywood would turn green, white and gold. It's a strong chance of it happening. If it wasn't, the city of Hollywood wouldn't be mailing Al Lamberti anything.

Times are just hard right now. they can contract BSO for a few years and start back up whenever they want.

Most will get the chance to just swear in as Deputies. Same thing happened when BSO took over Pompano...

Discussion of Pompano going back to their own PD was happening literally a month or so before the economy really hit us.

From what I hear, the Hollywood officers do not want this to happen. Those guys have some nice perks (like time to work-out on duty) that might not be carried over if a merger was to happen.
