Tattoo policy?

Im just wondering what the general policy is on tattoos for most departments. I have 1 half-sleeve that covers my arm 360 degrees and stops right before the bend. Its pretty much covered up by most short sleeve shirts but maybe a half-inch shows. Im also thinking of getting the other arm done and I'm just wondering if this will be a big problem while trying to get hired on?

Is that something that is pretty much a DQ or can you get hired but you have to have something covering it while on duty?

Well, it is for State Police and alot of other PD's, but not all by any means.

As long as its nothing vulgar or offensive our Dept. doesn't care. Have one guy that has some type of tribal stuff down his entire arm. I would probably wear a long sleeve shirt to my interview though..lol

our department (new milford) doesn't have any policy, newtown has no exposed, west haven has exposed but no more than a 1/4 of the exposed part can be covered in ink (yeah i dont know how you figure that math out)...pretty much varies from town to town
