From Tasmania

G'day all. Ive been checking out Officer.com for a fair while now but have never got around do doing this.
I'm a Constable in Tasmania Police. I'm a uniform cop in a suburban station, near Hobart, and think this is the best job I've ever had. I was in the Airforce & went freelance for a while before returning to Tasmania & living happily ever after with my wife.
We have great beer in Tasmania (better than the stuff in the Northern Territory) and lots of Tassy Devils.

Bigger cattle, bigger properties, bigger houses, worlds largest natural gas reserve, worlds largest Uranium deposits, worlds biggest drinkers, bigger bank accounts, and so on...


The only thing we have that is smaller than the rest of the world is our egos... We really are very humble people. When you live in the best part of the entire world, you should be humble. It annoys all the rest of world to be told the blatantly obvious..

Damned if I'd be in your police force. Lowest paid police nationaly according to our Police Association Salary comparisons. I'd rather work in your area than mine however... Just wished you guys got paid better. I takes me hat off to ya doing the job you guys do with the low salary you have to put up with. It surprises me little how many ex-tassie cops join us. Good workers, but can't hack the heat.

we don't make our own beer here... at least not in Breweries...
However, come round my place, with a glass of my homebrew and .... wooooo hooooo!!!!!
My homebrew stout comes in at just under 11%

Hey AussieCop, Not only do I love beer but I also love stout. A lot. Don't worry about how much they pay me, My last job payed $70000 tax free but I was not happy at all. Now I'm totaly happy. Oh yeah, and my wife makes a lot more than me.
P.S. I'm coming up to the North Island in Janurary, how much stout have you got?

I will be in the Victorian South Island myself over Christmas. will be having chrissy in Hobart.
How much stout have I got? More then you can ever drink.
I'm on 60k at the moment after almost 8 years... will make 65k+ next year due to change in position. WA are still the highest... 36K in training.
And my homebrew stout is Coopers with a SECRET ingredient... Mmmmmmmmmmmm lovely!!!

How did you know about the Mereenie Gas and oil fields located 100 miles west of Alice Springs.? The gas field that is not fully explored, but it's known capacity is capable of supplying all of Australia's natural gas needs independently for 400 years.
