I think that some screen names here are obvious... mine is a derivation of my name but there are some that I wonder where they came from.. So come on, tell us what you based your screen name on.

I'm a photographer, and I shoot with mostly Nikon equipment.
Mine is not only my first name, but sorta describes me:

My sister started calling me Pocahontas (family joke) and years ago I knew someone with the last name Nutt. On one of her emails she referred to me as Pocahontasnutt. When I answered her, I signed it Pnutt. http://www.officer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

One of my favorite movies is Tombstone. In the scene where Wyatt Earp and Ike Clanton meet for the first time, Ike refers to Wyatt as "Kansas Law Dog". Since I'm in Florida, I changed it up a bit.

I've heard the old-timers out here in the desert refer to the hermits that live in shacks out here in the middle of nowhere as Desert rats. When I packed up the family and moved out in the middle of nowhere myself with nothing for neighbors but coyotes and jack rabbits it seemed appropriate.

Bobby

Two reasons. As an homage to one of the craziest (and most fun) guys I've ever known (and I knew him only briefly), and (as you can see in my e-mail address) as a nod to "Bobby Mcgee". The Bobby of song always reminded me of the Bobby I knew in life...
(Oh yeah, I was also at first pretending to be male... for reasons that have been difficult to explain to others http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif)

Mine is pretty stupid actually. My husband at the time (ex now) used to call me Ritamain (dont know where that came from) and it finally got shortened to Rita. We still work together and he still calls me that & after 8 years of it I'm used to it.

GSXR750
08-17-2000, 03:13 PM
GSXR-750 is thy model motorcycle I ride. I was lured to this site via a thread on sportbikeworld.com. The GSXR is manufatured by Suzuki. It is theirtop of the line racing bike and the 2000 749cc model was rated superbike of the year. It is quite the bike. It weighs under four hundred pounds, produces 128 horsepower, tops out at 177MPM and runs the quarter mile in ten and a half seconds.

Badgeman came from a lot of different places. The website I run in which we sell badges is one ...plus I am a cop.... plus if you run a search on the name and J.F.K. you get where the name really started from. I love to study the J.F.K. shooting for fun.

Spider
08-17-2000, 06:51 PM
I used to collect Comics. Spiderman was my favorite. I still own the first edition. That's right folks, Spiderman #1, the one where he takes on the Fantastic Four.
A few buddies started calling me Spiderman, or Spider, in 8th grade. It stuck. That was 24 years ago.

I have trouble thinking of names to use on the internet, so I came up with CJ122....
CJ - my initials
122 - my DOB
It's dumb but I guess it will work. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif

Mine is directly linked to my work experience. I was a cop right out of college, then went to Customs as an Inspector, and now I'm back to being a peace officer.

I thought mine was self explainatory but I will tell you all anyway http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif
It is sort of my standard response whenever anyone accuses me of being a wise ***,(or any other sort of deviant http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif) Amazingly enough it happens often enough for me to need a standard response http://www.officer.com/ubb/eek.gif

one of my favorite gubment subsidies. I used to love those public school lunch grilled cheese sammiches.
My old boss and I had the same intials, "DS", when I started working here. When it came to signing documents or posting his whereabouts on the assignment board, he always used "DS". So my initials could be used for the assignment board, the assigment editor used "DSt" for me, since the first two letters in my last name are S and T. Even though I'm the only DS now, I still sign stuff "D.St."
Glockarmorer
08-18-2000, 03:54 PM
Mine is rather obvious I suppose. I joined the "Glock Talk" forum ( www.glocktalk.com (http://www.glocktalk.com) ) shortly after returning from the Glock transitional intstructor school in Smyrna. I had already completed the basic and advanced Glock amormorer's courses. I'm also one of the agency armorers for our department issued Glocks. I kept the name when I came over to officer.com because it was easy to remember.
And I love the "drastic fantastic plastic!" http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
But y'all can call me G.A. for short,

Being of Irish heritage my last name starts with Mc.....anyone that has been in the military knows that with a name like that you get tagged as Mack.As this is pretty common I added the first three numbers of my AFSC/MOS....81172(law enforcement specialist). Not extremely clever but it works for me.

Tackleberry
08-19-2000, 11:13 AM
Well mine "Tackleberry" was given to me by other officers at my department. It refers to the character in the movie "Police Academy" Eugene Tackleberry. At first I didn't really like being called it and as some of you know if the guys find out it really bothers you they do it even more. Then I took a liking to it and thought it wasn't too bad of a nick name. Now people don't even call me by my real name and instead just call me Tac for short. I first got called this by my Sgt. who said he has never seen someone so fasinated by weapons and gear along with my gung-ho type attitude. From the first time I started with my department I constantly talked about joining the Emergency Response Team and finally after a year there I tryed out and made the team. Now I am kinda my departments special liason in selecting and purchasing weapons for our guys. I also get sent to alot of schools in special instruction to bring back and teach team members. Other guys don't seem to want to go or have much intrest other then our regular training so I am more then happy to go and learn as well as teach at my department's expense! I do not consider myself a supercop by any means, I just want to learn as much as I can and teach others what I have learned.

Mine comes from a security company I used to work for. DMS is the initials for the company, and 525 was my ID number for radio and reports.
Wasn't one before, and will never be another(the company is out of business).

Mine comes from my favorite character in the Dungeons and Dragons fantasy world. I am one who is very private so I do not give my real name out here on the world wide net. I guess I am weird but that is my normal state of mind. You wil have to get to know me more before I will give real name.
